Biography
Russell Pulford is an artist whose textured abstractions echo the meditative structure of colour field painting.
His work explores the relationship between balance, saturation, and surface with a distinctively tactile approach.
Russell’s compositions are built on bold, rectangular forms that nod to mid-century abstraction while pushing into new material territory. Thick, layered pigments—sometimes matte, sometimes glossy create tension between harmony and interruption, especially in his use of high-contrast palettes and exposed underpainting.
